Model and provider
Depending on the licence, approved language models and providers are used. For Enterprise, additional requirements on provider, hosting, data processing, security and governance can be taken into account.
What an AI licence does not mean
Decisions are not handed to the AI. Roles, boundaries, approvals and responsibility remain part of governance – set out with the AI Agents.
Business use
Testing is not the same as running in production.
Private use and evaluation
Where the licence allows it, Process Studio can be used to learn, test and evaluate.
Inside a company
Productive or commercial use requires the matching licence. Productive use means in particular using TAOM to model, document, analyse or steer real business processes and transformation work.
Team licence
Working together is a capability of its own.
Not simply more seats: the team licence adds what makes shared work possible in the first place.

The key states what applies
Level, number of seats and validity sit in the licence key itself – not in a table somebody has to look up. What you acquired is in the key.
Tamper-evident
The key is cryptographically secured. An altered key – more seats, a longer term – is detected on verification and refused.
Seats are counted, not estimated
How many seats are taken and how many free follows from the users actually created. When someone leaves, their seat is released.
Add-on licence
Testing is a job of its own – and a licence of its own.
People who test rarely work on the model. A hundred of them can work through test cases and report results without ever changing a diagram. That is why testing and verification is a separate add-on licence – like team collaboration.
What it unlocks
Verification duty, risks, controls, test cases and results on the process step. Plus the marking in the diagram and the exchange with the target systems.
Per person testing
One licence per person, whatever their level. Someone who only tests stays a registered user without AI – and does not pay for capabilities they do not need.
Prerequisite in the house
Available from Process Studio Team upwards. The topic reaches into the model structure and assumes somebody in the house works with it.

What people usually ask before buying
Can I try Process Studio first?
Yes, within the available trial or evaluation licence.
May I use the free edition productively inside a company?
No, where the licence is intended solely for private use or evaluation.
Are AI features included?
Depending on the licence level. Which agents work also depends on the role inside the tool.
Are Jira, Confluence or SAP included?
No. Those remain separate products from other vendors with their own licences.
Is consulting included?
Only where it is expressly part of the offer. Services are billed separately.
Can I extend later?
Yes. TAOM is deliberately built for a stepwise start – there are only extensions, no downgrades.
